MARION COUNTY, Fla. -

A dog beaten and stabbed by her owner is now doing well, according to Marion County Animal Services.

Back in April, Boxer-Lab mix Molly actually suffered a fractured skull when her owner, 49-year-old Steven Fleming, brutally attacked her. Neighbors said they heard Molly screaming like she was dying and called 911 when they heard the abuse.

Now, Animal Services said the veterinarians there are pleased with how well Molly is doing and will be adopted out once she is completely healed. Police told Local 6 that Molly will not need to be held as evidence, however, whoever adopts her will need to be aware that Molly's appearance may be required in court at some point and the adopter will be required to transport her there.

Animals Services officials said when Molly is ready to find a home, they will post a notice on their Facebook page and website.
