There's something odd about the dog named Tonik.

The poodle-Shih Tzu mix has an "eerily humanoid" face, says the Indiana animal welfare agency.

WPLG-TV reports Tonik was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Kentucky and is up for adoption with ASPCA.

The candid photo of the pooch was taken by Renny Mills, a professional pet photographer and posted on

The photo went viral Wednesday.

Petfinder wrote that Tonik isn't suitable for a home with children as the dog might be overwhelmed.

The fee to adopt this unusual pooch is $250 and hopefully Tonik's newly found fame will help find him a home.
