Dolphin calf, whale carcass wash ashore on New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - A dolphin calf and the carcass of a whale washed ashore Friday on New Smyrna Beach.

The dolphin, estimated to be 2.5-feet long, was found in the 3000 block of State Road A1A.  The dolphin did not survive.

Meanwhile, the carcass of a 25-foot whale washed up in the 4800 block of A1A.

No other details were immediately known.
