Double trouble for suspect accused of carjackings

Man charged with 2 carjackings, 2 counties on same day

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County sheriff's investigators have linked a man already in custody to a frightening carjacking that happened in January.

According to his arrest affidavit, Jeffrey Noel, 23, faces a new charge of carjacking with a firearm for the incident that happened Jan. 11.

The victim told investigators she had just arrived home at her apartment and was collecting things in her car to bring inside when she heard a knock at her driver's side window.

According to the affidavit, she said she saw a black male pointing a semi-automatic gun at her. She told investigators the man said, "B****, get out of the car."

She said she looked over to the passenger's side window and saw another black male pointing another gun at her.

She told investigators she followed their commands, crawling to the passenger side of the car into the parking lot and away from the car, and that's when they drove away, according to the arrest affidavit.

That same morning, Osceola County sheriff's investigators reported another carjacking in their jurisdiction. In that case, a 2015 white Dodge Charger was stolen.

Orange County sheriff's deputies helped apprehend the driver when that car was located at the Cash America on S. Orange Blossom Trail the next day.

Noel was arrested after deputies found a loaded Glock inside his car and a .45 caliber handgun in his waistband, according to his arrest report.

On Monday, Orange County sheriff's investigators charged Noel with the woman's carjacking after she picked him out of a photo lineup.

News 6 found out Noel has been in and out of prison. According to records with the Florida Department of Corrections, Noel was sentenced to three years in prison in 2011 -- when he was only 17 years old -- for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The new carjacking with a firearm charge means Noel is now being held at the Orange County Jail. A judge ordered Tuesday morning that he be held without bond.
