Dozens of burglaries reported at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

2 arrested, may be linked to more than 20 burglaries, cops say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating more than 20 burglaries reported at Walt Disney World's Saratoga Springs Resort since late December.

Deputies and Disney security investigators conducted an anti-burglary detail at the resort on Jan. 21 in light of the rash of burglaries. The sheriff's office says the suspects got into the room through the back sliding glass doors and stole electronics, jewelry, money, and other valuables.

According to a report, during the anti-burglary detail investigators spotted 25-year-old Jake Blair and 19-year-old Minoska Guillen trying to get into a room through a French door. Authorities say the pair took off to Disney Springs where deputies caught them.

The report states Blair and Guillen were searched and investigators found a laptop, seven iPads, and an iPhone. Authorities determined those items were stolen from two other hotel burglaries at the Old Key West Resort.

Investigators say the pair's actions and the electronics they found on them were "consistent with nearly every other burglary occurring at the Saratoga Springs Resort."

Both Blair and Guillen are still booked in the Orange County jail. The Sheriff's Office says they have not been charged in the burglaries at this time. The State Attorney's Office tells News 6 it has the case but has not made a filing decision yet.

The Sheriff's Office says there has not been another burglary at Saratoga Springs since Blair and Guillen's arrests. Investigators are looking to see if the pair are connected to the other cases.

Disney tells News 6 it is working closely with deputies during the investigation. It has also increased security in light of the burglaries and told its housekeeping team to make sure the patio doors are locked.
