The Brevard County Sheriff's Office reported in a news release that the incident started around 11 p.m. when a green Nissan Altima swerved dangerously close to a deputy working an unrelated traffic stop alongside U.S. 1 and Dairy Road in North Brevard. The deputy began chasing the Nissan, which entered Titusville city limits, turned in to an apartment complex at 507 Rockpit Road, and crashed.

The car's two occupants ran off, but Reeves was subdued with a stun gun and taken into custody after a struggle, deputies said.

Then second man got away.

Deputies reported finding 26 individually packaged bags containing cocaine on Reeves.

Reeves was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft of a motor vehicle, driving without being issued a driver’s license, reckless driving, felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement, resisting an officer without violence, possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to sell.
