A man was arrested in Seminole County on suspicion of pointing a gun at another driver's face and threatening to shoot him during a road rage incident.
Sparkman Gibson Summerall, 57, of Winter Park, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, two drivers had a disagreement around 9 a.m. about merging into traffic on State Road 419 in Longwood. Deputies said Summerall flipped off the driver, 28-year-old Chris Cummings, who told Local 6 he was dropping off a friend for a job interview.
Summerall returned a brief time later and grabbed a gun, pointing it at Cummings' face and threatening to shoot him, deputies said.
"He pulled (the gun) up and cocked it, and I said, 'What you going to do, shoot me? Now you're going to jail.' That's when he drove away," Cummings said. "It kept my heart pumping for sure."
Cummings says he called 911 and gave the operator the truck's license plate number.
Summerall then left the scene, said deputies, who added that he was stopped in Winter Springs near State Road 434 and Consolidated and was arrested. A gun that matched the description of the one allegedly used in the road rage incident was found in his car, deputies said.
"I got a family, a mother that loves me dearly. I would only imagine if he would of shot me what my mother would be going through right now," said Cummings.
Summerall was booked into the Seminole County Jail. He posted his $2,000 bond Thursday afternoon.
Summerall's first court date is set for Nov. 26.
