Driveway stolen from Marion County home

Reddick woman makes discovery after returning home from work

REDDICK, Fla. – Marion County deputies are looking for the thieves who stole a woman's driveway.

Deputies said the woman left her home on Northwest 120th Street in Reddick on Tuesday at around 7:30 a.m. and when she returned home later that night, she felt a "bump" in her driveway as she pulled in.

When she got out of her car, she discovered approximately 200 brick pavers were missing in a 20-foot-by-15-foot area, deputies said.

A witness told deputies that two men were seen digging up the pavers at around 9 a.m., but the activity didn't seem suspicious because construction workers were building a barn on the property.

Deputies said the culprits were seen driving away in a black pickup truck hauling a flat-bed trailer. Tire tracks were washed away from heavy rains, making it difficult to identify the truck.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 352-368-7867.
