Employers are on to sick day excuses

One in three call in sick when they are not

There are many sick day excuses that people use. While many working Americans take days off for their health, others use their sick days to mask their real day off plans.

According to WTSP, employers are on to phony excuses; Twenty two percent of employers have fired an employee for a bogus excuse. Employers call doctor offices, the employees' home and check the employee's social media posts on their sick day.

A survey done by CareerBuilder found one in three call in sick when they really are not.

However, some people show up to work while sick. Forty-seven percent of people, which is down from 54 percent last year, said they show up to work while sick, because they worry about losing pay or getting behind on work duties
