ESPN Report: Magic to trade Ryan Anderson to New Orleans Hornets

Magic to receive C Gustavo Ayon

ORLANDO, Magic. – The Orlando Magic will trade Ryan Anderson to the New Orleans Hornets, according to an ESPN.com report.

The Magic will receive Gustavo Ayon in a sign-and-trade deal. NBA.com is reporting that he will sign a four-year contract worth between $34-36 million.

Anderson started 61 games for Orlando last season, averaging 16.1 points and 7.7 rebounds.

Ayon, a 27-year-old rookie, started 24 games for the Hornets, averaging 5.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game. He had previously played professionally in Spain.

Ayon may be someone who can replace Dwight Howard, who recently told the Magic he wanted to be traded to Brooklyn.
