Republican-turned-Democrat Charlie Crist leads Gov. Rick Scott in a new poll.
Quinnipiac University released a poll Thursday showing that 47 percent of voters prefer the former governor over the current governor, who was preferred by 40 percent.
But Scott has narrowed the gap compared to a March poll that showed Crist ahead by 16 percentage points.
Scott's approval remains low, with 42 percent of respondents saying he's doing a good job and 47 percent saying he isn't. And 53 percent of respondents said Scott doesn't deserve another term, compared to 37 percent who think he does.
Crist leads Democratic primary opponent Nan Rich, 60 percent to 12 percent.
Quinnipiac polled 1,646 registered voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.4 percentage points.
