Facebook fired Yoga instructor for banning phones in class

Teacher was holding weekly instruction at company's campus

MENLO PARK, Calif. – Yoga teacher Alice Van Ness began teaching classes for social media giant Facebook in March and brought with her a principle she used in all of her classes:  she asks all students to silence their phones before class begins.

But according to SF Gate, an online version of the San Francisco Chronicle, the fitness company that contracted her to work at Facebook fired her because employees did not like the policy.
