ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office held a news conference Wednesday morning on the cold case death of the 22-year-old Navy veteran who was shot and killed in Orange County.
At the news conference, Roberto Guzman pleaded for help in finding out what happened to his son, Jeffrey.
"I want them [gunman] to know that they not only have destroyed the life, Jeffrey's life, but my whole family's. We are completely devastated," Roberto Guzman said.
Deputies said on Nov. 6, 201, US Navy sailor Jeffrey Guzman Perez was dropping off a friend on his motorcycle when two people got out of a blue minivan, one opened fire near Lancaster Park and Winegard in south Orange County.
Deputies say he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
"We should be preparing for a trial at this point instead of still trying to solve a case," said Corporal Dave Nutting with the sheriff's office said.
Investigators say it has been a frustrating case, but they are certain someone knows who did it. Jeffrey's brother said, "every moment is missing, every situation is lacking."
Jeffrey's family says that each of their lives has never been the same. They say Jeffrey had a passion for cars, motorcycles and was a hard worker since he was very young.
"Anybody who is seeing this, put yourself in our shoes, our situation, and see our family, see how we are and just have some compassion for us and come forward," said Jeffrey's brother.

Deputies have very little information on the suspects. There is not much of a description other than one was wearing a mask and another had dreadlocks.
