Fatal motorcyle crash shuts down 2 lanes on I-4 in Seminole County

Man lost control of motorcyle, troopers say

LONGWOOD, Fla. – Two of the travel lanes on the eastbound side of Interstate 4 were closed due to a motorcycle accident in which the rider lost control and crashed.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the accident happened around 12:10 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 95 about a mile east of State Road 434 in Longwood.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Juan Santos de la Torre, 22, was driving his motorcycle east on I-4 when he lost control, was thrown from his bike and struck the center guardrail. He was pronounced dead at a Central Florida hospital.

One lane remained open which backed up traffic for a couple of miles.  

The accident is under investigation.
