FHP: 2 drivers, teenager dead in crash near Gloucester Street

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Three people are dead after a crash Saturday afternoon on State Road 50 in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash involving a BMW and a pickup truck happened around 5:10 p.m. on State Road 50 near Gloucester Street, west of State Road 520.

Troopers said the driver of each vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, and a male teenager was pronounced dead at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Two other people in the pickup truck were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, troopers said.

State Road 50 was shut down in both directions at the scene for a few hours, but reopened at 10 p.m.

Troopers said a man was behind the wheel of the BMW and that people who saw the crash told them he was traveling westbound on Colonial Drive and driving aggressively, when he veered into the eastbound lanes and slammed into the pickup truck head-on.

The 45-year-old man in the BMW and a woman driving the truck were trapped inside their vehicles, and later, pronounced dead, troopers said. The woman was identified by FHP as Linda McCormick, 69. The teenager was identified by troopers as Dylon McCormick, 13.

The crash happened just beyond a roadside memorial, warning people to drive safely.
