ST. CLOUD, Fla. - Police say they were called to a home on Friday after a report of a fight between a father and his daughter.
Officers arrived at the home on Holden Drive in the Deer Creek subdivision and discovered 46-year-old Juan Lovine stabbed his daughter with a sword.
The sword penetrated the daughter's right forearm into her chest cavity, according to St. Cloud police.
The daughter was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center where police said she is in stable condition and expected to recover.
Police said Lovine was initially transported to St. Cloud Hospital, but later had to be transferred to Orlando Regional Medical Center due to an eye injury.
Lovine will be charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic violence, police said.
Meanwhile, Lovine's mother, 74-year-old Isabel Rego, who was present during the altercation, was also arrested for resisting a law enforcement officer and taken to the Osceola County Jail, where police said she bonded out.
