FBI: Shots fired in Clermont bank robbery

CLERMONT, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a bank robbery in Clermont on Monday afternoon after shots were fired.

The FBI said no one was injured in the robbery at Fifth Third bank on Roper Boulevard.

Police said the man went into the bank, showed a handgun and demanded money from the tellers. Once he obtained an undisclosed amount of money, he got into a newer model 4-door vehicle light in color and left.

Witnesses described the culprit as a black man approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build wearing a black or dark blue hooded style sweatshirt, light colored long pants, dark gloves and a dark covering over his face.
