Sign knocked down in traffic accident near Epcot, FHP says

Accident injures 1 person, blocks World Drive

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – One person was hospitalized and an overhead sign was knocked down after a vehicle accident on World Center Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash, which happened after 3 p.m. near Epcot Center Drive, blocked southbound traffic.

Troopers said the crash involved a Dodge Durango. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

An overhead sign was knocked down after the vehicle collided with the pole, troopers said. The sign was blocking the southbound lanes of World Drive. A crane was en route to remove and repair the sign.

Troopers said one person was taken to Celebration Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
