Florida boy, 12, accused of stealing truck

Police arrest Panhandle boy on grand theft auto charges

SPRINGFIELD, Fla. – A 12-year-old Florida Panhandle boy is accused of stealing a truck from his neighbor.

It's not the first time the child has been in trouble. He's accused of stealing two school buses in Bay County earlier this summer.

Police say the boy was arrested on Thursday on charges of grand theft auto and damaging an electronic monitoring device.

The News Herald of Panama City reports the boy attempted to steal his mother's car on Wednesday night. When it didn't start, police say he took his neighbor's truck.

Authorities found the boy early Thursday. He had cut his monitoring device, which had been ordered after his arrests for stealing the buses.
