DELAND, Fla. -

Workers at Florida Hospital DeLand found human remains on Monday at a construction site.

The human remains, believed to be a skull or a partial skull, were turned over to law enforcement, who will send them on to the Medical Examiner's Office.

Hospital spokeswoman Lindsey Rew said they believe there may have been an indigent cemetery on the site 50 to 100 years ago, but are reaching out to city and county officials to get more details.

Officials said the remains are not suspicious and no other investigation is anticipated.
