Florida man loses arm in wood chipper

Victim taken to Delray Medical Center

BOCA RATON, Fla. - A construction worker was taken to a South Florida hospital Thursday after losing his arm in a wood chipper, officials said.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Capt. Albert Borroto said the worker was taken to the trauma center at Delray Medical Center. His condition was not immediately known.

It's the second South Florida construction accident involving a wood chipper in less than a month.

In June, Hernan Gutierrez was killed after he was somehow pulled into a wood chipper while cleaning debris in Davie.
