Florida woman in DUI had 0.41 blood alcohol level, deputies say
Elin Marie Peterson arrested in Marion County
A 33-year-old Central Florida woman was arrested late Wednesday on suspicion of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.41, more than five times the legal limit.
Elin Marie Peterson, of Fort McCoy, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Peterson was inside a car that struck some bushes along Highway 40. A deputy asked her what happened, and she said she's "considered an alcoholic" and that's how she went off the roadway.
Peterson failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, deputies said.
The Sheriff's Office said Peterson's submitted to a breath test at the Marion County Jail and recorded a 0.41 blood alcohol level. The legal limit is 0.08.
Peterson was immediately taken to a hospital, said deputies, who added that she was later returned to jail.
No other information was released.
