Video: Brevard County woman caught burglarizing home

Woman tried to hide face with tennis racket while cutting camera wire, video shows

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Brevard County woman faces charges of not only burglarizing homes, but leaving her child in the car while she did it.

Surveillance video helped Rockledge police arrest 34-year-old Rachel Berger -- also known as Rachel Jones-- and charge her with burglary and child neglect.

The video was caught by cameras installed by a family friend, Jonathan Whipple.

"She's going to knock on the front door and then proceed to look into the windows, and then try the door before she notices the camera," Whipple explained as he watched the video with Local 6.

The woman is seen going around the back yard, where she tries to cut the cord leading to the video camera, but not before trying to hide her face with a tennis racket.

Berger is charged with one count of burglary and one count of child neglect, but with a record of similar crimes, she could face an extended jail sentence.
