Waste water tanker flips on U.S. 1 in Cocoa

No injuries reported, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A portion of U.S. 1 was shut down after an industrial waste water tanker flipped over in Cocoa Tuesday.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. when a tanker carrying waste water took the ramp too quickly and the vehicle rolled over. According to Cocoa police, the driver was not hurt in the crash.

The section of U.S. 1 leading to State Road 528 along with the westbound on-ramp to the Beachline was closed as a result of the accident for hours.

None of the waste water has spilled; however, a small amount of diesel fuel did spill from the truck, police said. The driver is being charged with careless driving. In addition, the driver is facing additional charges for using agricultural fuel in the truck.
