Central Florida woman celebrates 110th birthday

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – Family and friends came together Sunday to celebrate a local woman's major milestone.

Wilhelmine Hoorn celebrated her 110th birthday earlier this month. To mark the big day, the German American Society of Central Florida held a party for Hoorn in Casselberry.

Hoorn was born in Holland in 1903, and immigrated to the United States in 1929. During her 43 years in Central Florida, Hoorn has actively volunteered at Florida Hospital Altamonte and the German American Society of Central Florida.

Hoorn has three daughters, 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

During her celebration Sunday, Hoorn told Local 6 she felt very loved.
