ORLANDO, Fla. - Colgate is working on a project that combines two things many people do in the morning -- brushing their teeth and drinking coffee.
According to a patent filed by the company, Colgate will develop a toothbrush capable of "releasing a chemical into the mouth during use." The "chemicals" include caffeine, painkilling drugs or appetite suppressants.

Developers would create a patch that could attach to the head of the toothbrush to store and dispense the caffeine or other chemicals. The patch would last roughly three months, according to the patent filing.
The patch could also be infused with flavors, including:
- Green apple
- Chile peppers
