GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. - After admitting the wrong woman was arrested twice, the Clay County Sheriff's Office said it now has jailed the right woman.

Deputies on Thursday arrested 31-year-old Ashley Odessa Chiasson on grand theft and fraud charges.

Earlier this year, the Sheriff's Office extradited 28-year-old Ashley Nicole Chiasson from Chalmette, Louisiana, and jailed her twice on separate charges.

The women differed in description by 5 inches and 20 pounds.

On Monday, an attorney for the wrongly accused Chiasson sent the sheriff a letter of intent to sue.

The single mother spent 28 days in jail in January. Officials released her when they realized their mistake.

She was arrested on separate charges during a hearing to drop the original charges.

Ashley O. Chiasson remains in the Clay County Jail.
