VERO BEACH, Fla. - An Indian River County man is arrested after police say that he spit on a police officer.

Larry Scott Estes II, 25, was arrested Thursday after a neighbor called to report Estes was trying to break into his home.

The officer found him trying to hide in some bushes in a vacant lot and arrested Estes for disorderly intoxication. According to the police report, Estes made verbal threats and refused to walk to the patrol car.

Once deputies got Estes into the patrol car he began kicking the back seat window in attempt to break the glass. While deputies were putting him in leg restraints to prevent the kicking, Estes spit in the deputy's face.

Estes was also charged with resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. He is being held in the Indian River County Jail on $16,000 bond.
