SORRENTO, Fla. – A Lake County crash is under investigation after a vehicle struck a sign and a utility pole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sharon Harrison, 27 of Apopka, was traveling eastbound on State Road 46 early Monday morning and approached a vehicle driven by Janet Kennedy, 60 of Sorrento, who was southbound on Orange Street.

Harrison failed to properly execute a right curve and crossed into the westbound lane, entered the north shoulder, struck a sign and then hit a utility pole, the FHP said.

The impact broke the pole in two spots, causing power lines to fall, according to troopers. The sign struck the right side of Kennedy's vehicle, while Ernest Biggs, 67, of Deltona, was traveling westbound through the scene and struck the fallen lines, the FHP reported.

Kennedy and Biggs were not injured, but Harrison had serious injuries and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, troopers said.
