Lake County drug bust leads to 51 arrests

Detectives still looking to serve additional warrants

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A seven-month drug investigation in Lake County has resulted in the arrests of 51 people accused of dealing drugs.

The investigation began after the Lake County Sheriff's Office received numerous complaints  from residents regarding drug activity in their neighborhoods, according to LCSO.

Sheriff's detectives, along with those from other local law enforcement agencies, targeted street-level drug dealers in Lake County who were dealing methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and various prescription pills.

In addition to the arrests, the investigation, which concluded Thursday, led to the seizure of two vehicles.

A total of 82 arrest warrants were obtained. Detectives are attempting to locate and arrest the remaining suspects for whom they have warrants.

"We take our responsibility seriously of keeping our neighborhoods safe and drug free." said Lake County Sheriff Gary Borders. "Dealing drugs in this county will not be tolerated."
