EUSTIS, Fla. – A Lake County school teacher resigned days before a scheduled hearing after making comments about a student's cleavage in front of a class, according to school officials.
Joan Bannister, a Eustis Middle School math teacher, told a student she was out of dress code and approached her with a ruler to measure her exposed "boobage," according to a complaint filed by the student.

Bannister said in a memo that she never used the word "boobage" and never touched her but admitted to having a discussion with the student about the dress code.
The school district recommended a five-day unpaid suspension, but she never served it because she requested a hearing.
Bannister resigned before the hearing on Monday.
