Deputies: Man killed grandmother, great-grandmother

2 killed, 1 injured in Marion County shooting

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A judge granted the Marion County man charged with killing his grandmother and great grandmother no bond at his first appearance on Monday.

Deputies said Azael Stevens and killed two women, and injured a third Sunday morning and was found driving the car of one of the victims.

At Stevens' first appearance, he only said "Ray Charles" and "Speedy trial" and is refusing to answer investigators' questions, according to authorities.

Deputies said a 911 call came in around 1:50 a.m. Sunday about a shooting in the Marion Oaks subdivison.

When deputies arrived at the house located at 15670 Southwest 19th Avenue Road, in Ocala, they found Stevens' grandmother and great-grandmother shot to death, authorities said.

A third woman was shot and taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center, deputies said.

Witnesses alerted deputies of a suspect who was driving the victim's car on State Road 200, deputies said.

Deputies said Stevens faces multiple charges, including felony murder and grand theft auto. According to records, Stevens was released from prison on assault and drug charges in July.
