Judge upholds wrongful death verdict in shooting death

Family files wrongful death lawsuit after man shocked while handcuffed

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A federal judge upheld the wrongful death verdict on Tuesday in the Marion County 2012 shooting death of an unarmed man.

Joshua Salvato was shot and killed by a Marion County deputy in July 2012 and his death was caught on the deputy's dash camera.

In June, a jury awarded his family $2.3 million finding that the deputy acted "in bad faith."
