Marion County under level 2 advisory

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – The Marion County Emergency Management is under a level 2 advisory as Tropical Storm Debby hits the area with heavy rains and strong winds.

Emergency management officials said they had received five calls about sinkholes on Tuesday.

Residents reported rain and wind on Tuesday evening.

Sandbags would be available for residents at three Marion County Sheriff's Office locations:

  • North Multi District Office, 8311 N. Hwy 441, Ocala
  • South Multi District Office, 3260 SE 80th Street, Ocala
  • Main Operations Center, 692 NW 30th Avenue, Ocala

The National Hurricane Center in Miami reported on Tuesday that Debby had made landfall in Steinhatchee.
