Tropical Storm Debby soaks Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Emergency management crews in Marion County are watching for heavy flooding and storm damage through Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Several workers were spotted pumping water out of retention ponds, Tuesday night, in anticipation of more rain.

In the Heritage Hills subdivision in Ocala, an area known for flooding, some homeowners like Jim Homan, lined their homes with sandbags.

Homan and his wife also started moving their belongings to a warehouse.

"We're ready to move if we have to," Homan said.

Many areas in Marion County have already seen anywhere from 7 to 12 inches of rain up until this point, causing huge sink holes in some areas.

Emergency management crews are on alert, looking for down power lines, trees, sink holes and tornadoes.

Late Tuesday there were no reports of any.
