The space agency asked people from around the world to take a selfie on Earth Day to contribute to a global mosaic that looks like Earth appeared from space on April 22.

Over the span of a month, NASA pored through images from 113 countries and regions. With the help of GigaPan, NASA created a zoomable 3.2-gigapixel image that allows people to explore and search for their picture.

NASA based its mosaic on images of each hemisphere captured on April 22 by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite on the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership satellite.
