Neiman Marcus unveils 'fantasy' Christmas gifts

List includes 'diamond experience,' 201-inch outdoor television

ORLANDO, Fla. – They're extravagant, exorbitant and excessive, but the 2013 "fantasy Christmas gifts" from Neiman Marcus sure are fun to look at.

The international retailer unveiled its yearly "Christmas Book" on Wednesday, highlighting the popular and expensive fantasy gifts.

The most costly fantasy gift is considered an "ultimate diamond experience." The buyer gets a 25-carat rough diamond, a trip to West Africa to learn how it was created and a trip to Belgium to oversee the diamond cutting for various pieces of jewelry. The experience costs an estimated $1.85 million.

Nearly as expensive is the "his-and-hers" fantasy gift -- a 201-inch outdoor screen that rises from the ground. The unique television comes with a $1.5 million price tag. Customers can add two giant outdoor loudspeakers to bring the total cost to $2.6 million.

The fantasy gifts list also includes:

  • 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante ($344,500)
  • One-night stay at a glass house in Connecticut ($30,000)
  • Indian Larry's "Wild Child" motorcycle ($750,000)

While the fantasy gifts may be out of reach for most shoppers, Neiman Marcus notes 40-percent of the items in this year's Christmas book are under $250.
