Police investigating what caused a man to veer into a guardrail

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Police said that 20-year-old Michael Nealy from North Carolina was killed when his vehicle struck a guardrail on I-95 Monday evening.

Nealy was driving southbound in the left lane when he tried to cross the other lanes to exit onto US-92 and lost control of his vehicle, according to police reports.

He collided with the guardrail, was ejected from his vehicle and died on the scene, Florida Highway Patrol said. Police are still investigating the incident and whether or not it was alcohol-related.
