Bodies of couple found in Orange Co. burned home

House fire call leads to gruesome discovery

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The bodies of an elderly couple were found in the charred remains of their Orange County home Saturday.

Orange County firefighters were called to a home at 6509 Pompeii Road around 11:05 a.m. after a fire was reported.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the mobile home was gutted from a fire, but strangely, the fire was already extinguished, officials said.

Officials said while searching the home, they found an elderly couple dead inside.

Orange County deputies were called to start the death investigation while the State Fire Marshal's office was investigating the cause of the fire.

Deputies identified the couple as 80-year-old Dolores St. Myer and 78-year-old Jerome St. Myer.
