Driver fled scene of crash, FHP says

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 35-year-old man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash while crossing a street in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Alfonso Lopez died in the crash, which happened early Saturday on U.S. Highway 441 at Wakulla Way in Orlando.

Troopers said Lopez ran across the highway near a bus stop when he was struck by a Nissan Altima.  The FHP said the driver did not stop.

A tip led troopers to the car possibly involved in the crash, but they're still working to identify the driver.

The crash remains under investigation.
