Missing vehicle found unoccupied in Lake Florence, FHP says

Owner says vehicle was going to be reported as stolen

A car rolls into a lake in Orange County.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a case in which a missing vehicle was discovered unoccupied in Lake Florence on Wednesday morning.

The FHP said the first-responding trooper went into the lake to smash the windows in search of an occupant, but no one was inside.

The registered owner of the 2010 Nissan was notified and told the FHP the vehicle was missing and she was going to report the stolen vehicle to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

It's not known how the vehicle ended up in the lake.
