Motorcyclist, pedestrian killed in separate Central Florida crashes

Troopers investigating what led to both accidents

CHULUOTA, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating two deadly crashes late Tuesday night in Central Florida.

A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed around 8:30 p.m. in Orange County after troopers say he collided with a minivan along State Road 50 at Chuluota Road.

Jacob Bear, of Orlando, was killed in the crash, according to troopers, who said he became trapped underneath the van, which made a turn into his direct path.

The driver of the van, identified by the FHP as 56-year-old Rookmin Mungal, of Chuluota, suffered minor injuries.  She was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. 

Charges are pending in the case, the FHP said.

Meanwhile, around the same time, troopers say a 50-year-old man was hit by a car along Lake Mary Boulevard and Forest Boulevard in Lake Mary. The victim was taken to South Seminole Hospital but later pronounced dead.

No other details have been released.
