Woman killed after being run over several times

FHP looking for hit-and-run driver

ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers said one person was arrested and they are looking for another driver after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday morning in Orlando.

A woman was walking across Orange Blossom Trail near 39th Street and was not in a crosswalk when troopers said she was struck, the FHP said.

Troopers said 49-year-old Eduardo Vicente initially stopped when he hit the pedestrian, got out, then returned to his car and took off.

Another driver, Kimberly Morgenbesser, of Maryland, stopped and tried to assist the woman, when troopers said another vehicle, described as a Ford Taurus, ran over the woman again and kept going.

Troopers said a fourth car, driven by 23-year-old Yasmani Fonseca, also ran over the pedestrian but stopped until police arrived.

Around 8:30 a.m., troopers said Vicente contacted law enforcement about the incident and was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

Troopers said the accident was captured on surveillance video and they are attempting to get copies to review.
