WINTER PARK, Fla. – Some drivers say it's one of the most dangerous parts of I-4 in Central Florida.
For months crews have been trying to prevent accidents along the Fairbanks Curve in Winter Park.
But despite their work, we continue to see wreck and wreck.
Local 6 has told you before -- the highway gets really dangerous when it rains.
That's because the sharp curve get so slick, that when people speed, it causes cars to skid, and semi-trucks to jackknife.
That's why, starting late Monday night, October 22, crews will be back, trying to improve the westbound lanes between Lee Road and Fairbanks Avenue, to make them safer for you.
First, workers will grind down the surface of the highway to make it smoother.
Then, they'll lay down new asphalt, before painting new stripes on the road.
Workers will be out there every night from 10:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. for about two weeks -- so you'll have to watch out for possible delays.
