Publix to launch online deli ordering service at all stores

Service should be available at all locations by September 2014

LAKELAND, Fla. – After a successful test run, Publix has decided to expand its Online Easy Ordering service to all store delis.

The Lakeland Ledger reports the service allows customers to order meats, cheeses and custom sandwiches using Publix's website or a smartphone, and arrange for a pickup time.

Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets began testing the program a year ago at select stores. The chain has now started expanding the service to all stores and said Online Easy Ordering should be available at every location by September 2014.

"We were very pleased with the results of our pilot with deli Online Easy Ordering, and excited that we will be able to offer this service to all of our customers," Publix spokesman Brian West said Monday. "Soon, all of our customers using the service can spend their time in our stores shopping, not waiting in the deli service line."

The service is available by visiting publix.com/services and selecting Online Easy Ordering. Users can select from subs and sandwiches, and sliced meats and cheeses. The website includes details on weekly specials on deli items at participating stores.
