Brantley High School car wash profits sent to victims of Newtown tragedy

Volunteers raise money to send to Newtown shooting victims' families

Despite frigid temperatures, dozens of volunteers at Lake Brantley High School braved the cold and washed cars hoping to raise $5,000 to send to a bank in Newtown, Connecticut.

The money raised will help shooting victims families say good bye to their loved ones lost in Friday's tragedy. 20 students lost their lives as well as 6 teachers and teachers aides.

Volunteers told Local 6 they know these funds will not take away their pain, but hopefully it will let them know a small community similar to theirs, is thinking about them in the opposite corner of the country.
