That's a little more than half the number of jobs ADP reported that Florida added in September.

ADP reported that job growth in construction, transportation and utilities.

Florida's official unemployment rate in August was 7 percent. But state officials reported that the state actually lost more than 5,000 jobs that month.

The state has not reported new unemployment numbers since then because of the partial federal government shutdown. The state will release jobless numbers for both September and October on Nov. 22.
