Blaze destroys Ormond Beach home

Basement fire spreads, destroys home

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – The Ormond Beach Fire department extinguished a fire that destroyed an Ormond Beach home Sunday morning.

Firefighters said the fire was called in around 3 a.m. Sunday at 220 North Beach Street.

Firefighters said the fire started in the basement of the home, which was built in 1928

The three people inside the home evacuated without injuries, firefighters said.


The cause of the fire is unknown and the State Fire Marshall will be investigating. 

The home will be a total loss and the value is estimated at approximately $300,000.
