PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Prosecutors say six Port Orange police officers who shot a man after a chase on I-95 were justified in using deadly force and won't face any charges.
The officer's actions were under review after Luke Castello was killed in the shooting in September of 2013. Authorities were looking for Castello after they say he robbed two people at a Daytona Beach motel. He was later spotted in Port Orange, but refused to stop for police. He sped onto I-95 where Castello lost control and crashed about a mile from Dunlawton Road.

The officers say they ordered Castello to show them his hands and get out of his van. That's when they say he instead pulled out a gun and pointed it at them.
The report says the officers fired a total of 37 rounds at Castello and that he was hit by 15 bullets. But, the State Attorney's Office says the officers were in fear for their lives and justified in using deadly force.
The officers were relieved of duty following the incident and underwent psychological examinations, but are now back on the job.
