Former Central Florida doughnut shop used as front for K-2 lab, deputies say

3 men arrested in Dunnellon drug bust

DUNNELLON, Fla. – Marion County deputies busted a drug operation in which three men were using a former doughnut shop in Dunnellon as a front to manufacture synthetic marijuana, known as K-2.

Drug agents seized enough materials to fill a 26-foot truck, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Not only did they confiscate an estimated $500,000 in ready-to-sell K2, but they also took raw materials, chemicals and equipment used in the operation.

Acting on an anonymous tip, agents raided Sunrise Donuts & Coffee at 10155 SW Highway 484 late Monday night, leading to the arrest of 3 men.

27-year-old Ahmad Warayat, 41-year-old Fares Rabah and 36-year-old Ahmed Mohsin were being questioned by detectives after their arrest in connection with the drug bust.

Two of the men are from Tampa, while the other is from Texas, according to officials.

The business, which has been closed for months, was converted into a "complete K-2 manufacturing setup," deputies said.

Before the men were under arrest deputies say one told them they were loading the "stuff," to be delivered to Tampa.

All three have been booked into the Marion County Jail, charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
